ByteDance prioritizes the development of GenAI, is it afraid of losing in the AI field?
The AI storm is unlikely to die down any time soon, and may even become more dominant. ByteDance, the company that oversees TikTok, prioritizes the development of generative artificial intelligence, known as GenAI, to anticipate undesirable situations.
ByteDance prioritizes GenAI development
It is not surprising that applications will one day benefit from the capabilities provided by artificial intelligence. Starting with chatbots like ChatGPT and Google Gemini (formerly known as Bard), it shows how the presence of artificial intelligence will revolutionize the world of technology.
Based on information reported by SCMP, ByteDance, which oversees TikTok, is now reportedly prioritizing and encouraging the development of generative AI. There is one reason: to catch up in the field of artificial intelligence which is loved by various groups.
This was acknowledged by ByteDance President Zhang Yiming, and the company is said to be increasing AI development on the platform. He revealed that one of the strongest reasons behind the advancement of AI is the development of ChatGPT class chatbots, including Sora AI, a popular text-to-video AI.
To prove that ByteDance prioritizes GenAI development, the company has published 300 job vacancies related to generative AI. Zhang said that recruiting artificial intelligence talents, improving organizational structure and improving basic research are the most important factors for winning the competition in a world full of artificial intelligence.
Are you afraid of losing to ByteDance Sora AI?
The attack on ByteDance with the presence of Sora AI which was launched in mid-February seems to have increasingly motivated those responsible at ByteDance to do better.
The text-to-video capability with unquestionable quality shows that ByteDance will prioritize AI development over improving existing features. By preparing a strategy to beat the newcomers, Zhang didn't want to lose the momentum to beat the newcomers.
Unfortunately, there is no denying the fact that ByteDance is far behind in the development of artificial intelligence. However, we as consumers just need to pay attention to the steps taken by ByteDance.
It didn't take long for the Chinese version of TikTok, known as Douyin, to secretly develop AI products. Starting from text, images, to videos whose quality is said to be second to none.
